At the end of November, another meeting of the cross-border network called S3 Couple Net took place in the South Bohemian Science and Technology Park. This time, it was specifically focused on resilient economic systems and green and digital transition, which are currently highly talked about and rapidly growing trends.
The workshop started with an introduction to the details of the new INTERREG Austria - Czech Republic support programme. Vanda Pánková from the Department of European Integration of the Regional Office of the South Bohemian Region took over this task and presented all the news and specifics of the upcoming calls for this cross-border programme.
After this theoretical introduction, the practical interactive work proceeded, focusing on the identification of the main topics for cross-border cooperation in relation to funding, sustainable development objectives, megatrends and the focus of regional smart specialisations. At the same time, the concept of possibilities for cross-border synchronisation of regional support programmes was presented.
The programme also included a professional excursion to the Institute of Technology and Economics (VŠTE), where, in addition to presenting the activities of this institution, research and development activities were also presented in the framework of a tour of laboratories and specialist departments.
During its implementation phase, the S3 Couple Net project has not only prepared a number of very interesting outputs, ranging from a comparative analysis of the S3 strategies of both regions, to recommendations of topics for cooperation projects, to an interactive catalogue of R&D&I services of institutions, but has also proposed concrete measures for cross-border synchronization of regional R&D&I support and, in particular, has created a communication platform for future coordination of key R&D&I actors.
